More about Benchmarks

After my previous post about benchmarks a group of people and I, started to find what went wrong in those benchmarks. apparently, those benchmarks have not been designed to properly detect and work with VIA processors. We have re tested again the unit using OSMark.

The results can be downloaded here.

Ctitanic, I know you're not a gamer, but could you please just download a demo of C&C Generals and try it just to see how it runs?

hi there Ctitanic - just wanted to thank you for all the time & trouble! I've got an EO preordered & trying to decide if to keep the preorder or get my money back ... hopefully the poor battery life is just a software bug..

Thanks David, I just want to say something. Even with this poor battery life I still love this machine.

About games, I try lo ran Quake IIIArena Demo. Take game runs but all I get is garvich in the screen. From what I can see in the screen I see the mouse moving around and that is a very good sign.

I'm running other more important now to us tests, I'm talking about the battery issue. But I'm downloading the demo to see what I can do. What I'm supposed to check there?

Sorry, but fileplanet is asking me for an account to download files and it seems to me that I have to pay for that.

Sorry about that. Fileplanet is free but you have to register. I understand you not wanting to deal with another account so here's the link to EA's site.

http://www.ea.com/official/cc/generals/us/demos.jsp

The link is below the list patches.

Thank you for taking the time to do this. I just need your impressions of how slow or fluid it runs because this game is hard to run on integrated chipsets.

The second link did not work.

There's just no luck sometimes.

I appreciate your time anyway and guess now I can only ask you to register to fileplanet and use the first link.

I understand if you don't want to. If someone else has any suggestions please post.

I'll prefer not to register in any of those downloads pages, they are very well known by being one of the first sources of spam.

Like I said, I understand. I'll keep an eye out for the demo somewhere else. I estimate Warcraft 3 plays smoothly because its' code is more forgiving. But this game is the big question mark in my decision.

Just keep posting so we can keep getting more information. Keep up the good work!
