Q1 UMPC not a processing powerhouse

This is what Tom Krazit at news.com.com says about the Intel Celeron M used in the Q1:

The Celeron M 353 runs at 900MHz, and comes with 512K bytes of Level 2 cache. Even though we're all aware that there's more to performance than clock speed, it still counts for something, and the 353 is slower than any current chip on Intel's pricing page, not counting the XScale handheld chips. In fact, the 353 doesn't even appear on that list of current products, which isn't unusual but signals that Intel has moved forward with more powerful products.

  1. Because it runs Windows XP, the UMPC can conceivably play any existing PC game title; though with its 512MB of RAM and 900MHz ultra-low-voltage processor, you'll be hard-pressed to play anything more hard-core than the included version of Soduk... http://weblog.empoweris.com/blogs/hardware_blog/archive/2006/05/01/95.aspx

  3. Well, that's not true at all. If you check one of the first video of the eo prototype posted at whatisnew.com you will see that it's possible to play Zoo Tycoon 2 which is more graphic demanding than Sudoku. Unfortunately I can't leave a comment there at that site. ;)
