In another hand we contacted Founder a few weeks ago asking for a date for the release of Vista Drivers for the i7210 and the answer from them was really bad: These devices were designed to be used with XP Tablet PC Edition.
Update: I just received this reply from Gail Levy, Marketing Director at Tabletkiosk:
Hi Frank,I have to say that I believe that Tabletkiosk is doing the impossible to release the Vista Drivers for the i7200 since but at the same time I know from my own experience that it's not easy to deal with a Communist Country Company.
At the current time, we are not selling the eo i7210 because it uses the Pentium M processor which was discontinued by Intel and we are unable to procure additional quantities. We have tried and will continue to try to obtain new processors, however, they are extremely difficult to come by. So for now, we have removed the eo i7210 SKU from our website.
The eo i7209 UMPC is a best seller for us, we are continuing to offer it. However, the Vista drivers are still in development and I do not know when they will be completed. We will not be posting the Vista drivers until all issues have been resolved including the functionality of the SD card. I know that there are drivers floating around the internet which do not allow full functionality of the unit and we have decided not to post them until everything works correctly.
I hope that this answers your questions.
Damn shame that the i7210 isnt available any more although the i7209 is still a good UMPC. The cheapest UMPC with a real docking station.
ReplyDeleteThey should stick the Mcaslin processors in it. Might help with the only major problem with the i7210 - battery life!

Steve, What type of Pentium M is using Asus in the new R2H?
ReplyDeletectitanic, I've heard that the 7200 series is no longer being made, and that ECS the manufacturer is no longer making any UMPC's. This could spell the end for TK!!!!
ReplyDeleteKeep in mind that TK started selling UMPC from Amtek and will continue to do so.
