Ultra Mobile Bike

The YikeBike does not have anything to do with PCs but it’s Ultra Mobile.

Now, here is the biggest problem and why to be green is not a popular way of life. The price for this bike is $5500! That’s half of the price of a small car! And you get 4 wheels and a roof! For half of this price you buy a scooter!

At BMW anyone could be a mechanic

This is one of the coolest video I have seen in a while. And think about it, the concept could be applied to almost anything including computers.

A Lesson to all of us

I know that this is way off topic in this site but I cried like a child when I watched for the first time. In a world where all we see in every corner is a "pre cut image" Hollywood Style for every thing to find a talent like this breaking all stereotypes is just a lesson for everybody to be remembered for Ever.

This guy made my day

We are living in a tuff time. We work some days like horses and any money we receive from our work seems to be not enough. So when you receive an email like this you feel really good.

In the meantime I have moved my <name removed>.exe file to the same folder where all files of your program are located and it started to work properly – see attachment.
It seems that problem is solved. Thanks a lot - I wish I could always have such support as yours :-) You should train Microsoft people how to support customers :-)
Thanks once more
Jacek

I don’t know how good or bad is Microsoft Tech Support. I never have called them for support. But the fact that one of my customers is telling me this makes me feel happy.

Pictures for your Desktop

I have been taking some pictures lately to use it in my Windows Desktop. I have shown them to few friends and they liked it and asked me for the permission to use  them in their PCs. So I though that may be that some of you may want to do the same so here they are.

Cleaning a CD/DVD with a banana?!

I thought that in my more than 15 years working with PCs, 10 of them as IT Manager I would have seen every single trick relative to how to clean a CD or DVD. But Today I discovered how wrong I was. I found this video explaining how to cleaning a CD/DVD with a banana and proving that it works. I have to confess that I have not tested myself because I still have my doubts about it.

TorrentSpy ordered to pay $111 million

Bad boy.. Bad boy... Bad boy what you gonna do when they come for you? Well, in this case they are not going to do anything or pay anything because they are broke according to news published today at Beta News. The message is clear, the MPAA will keep going and going after anyone posting or allowing to post music or movies online.

A Los Angeles federal judge has delivered a default judgement against the BitTorrent site finding it guilty of copyright infringement and forcing it to compensate studios.

Bye Bye Jornada

It's time to get new gadgets and to do that I have to let go some of my old but trusted ones. My Jornada 720 is for sale in eBay. I'm selling it in one package with a extra battery, a charger and a WiFi Card.

RIP Marc Orchant

I did not know him personally but I know about his job and love for these gadgets. Rest in Peace, Marc.

Update: 2:56PM Pacific Time December 9th, 2007:

It is with great sadness that I report that Marc Orchant, Husband to Sue, Father to Rebecca and Jason, and friend to so many, passed away just a short time ago. I was notified by Marc’s brother Craig.

His family and closest friends were at his side and his favorite music was playing. Craig said that Marc’s passing was as peaceful and easy as anyone could have hoped and he left this world surrounded by love from so many people that he couldn’t possibly have failed to know how many people cared for, appreciated and respected him.

Anyone that knew Marc also knew how much he loved music; especially the Grateful Dead. The excerpt below is from one of the songs that helped the family say goodbye to Marc and helped Marc move on to the next world. I talked to Marc almost every single day for the past couple of years. I’m sure that I’m not alone when I say that I am going to miss him so, so much.

To allow for people that may need to travel and take time of work, services are most likely going to be held this coming Wednesday afternoon at the Temple where the Orchants are members. I will provide more specific details as soon as they have been provided to me. Marc’s family expressed once again their gratitude for the outpouring of love and support that the technology community has shown in this very difficult time. Your warmth, concern and friendship will not be forgotten.

Praying for Marc Orchant

One of us is down, and the last thing we can do is pray. I'm re-posting this Rob's Bushway call, lets pray for Mark:

We are one tight-knit group of folks gathered around the Tablet PC / UMPC space. It is one reason why Marc Orchant's current situation has stunned us all. We've been following Marc's writings and listening to his podcasts for years, growing to know him more and more. Now, one of our very own is in a critical situation, and his family is in an immeasurable amount of pain. I know first-hand the impact and encouragement that a community can give as it rally's behind you in times of severe trial. When my daughter, Maggie, was undergoing chemo and multiple brain surgeries, the community gathered around us in some unbelievable ways, flooding the hospital with more cards than they had ever seen, and praying for us on a daily basis.

I'd like to ask all of you to join me, and many others around the world, at 1:00 pm MST today to pray for Marc and his family.  Knowing that we are gathered together at the same time, lifting up Marc and his family, will encourage you as well. Please repost this and pass the word around to as many sites as you can.

With this latest update from Sue Orchant, we have some definite things to pray for, and to be thankful for on behalf of Marc’s family:

In this past day we have seen some baby steps of improvement. He has some response to stimuli and his oxygen levels and heart rate have improved. I am guardedly optimistic. He still has not regained consciousness but we will take things minute by minute.

With you at 1:00 pm MST, Rob Bushway

Loren Heiny talks about his cancer

The word "cancer" scares everybody and to read how somebody wins the fight against this illness is always a good news. Today I read about Loren's fight at his blog. I tried to post a comment there but for some reason I'm not getting my registration password. Anyway... I think that my personal blog is a good place to say that I'm really happy to see that you, Loren, have won this battle. From the deep of my heart! We are all proud of you!

There is nothing real any more in movies

There was a time when you could believe everything that you saw in movies. It was a long time ago but it was. Today you go to movie theaters and it's really hard to differentiate what's real and what's not. And do not even try to find how it was made that process is going to be beyond your imagination. If you don't believe what I said take a look of this little clip.

can you help ThoughtFix?

We are living a tuff time here in USA. While our current President is "busy" in Iraq our internal economy is going really bad. And when I say Internal Economy I mean our pockets. I compare prices of everything from 9 years ago when I came to USA to current prices and they are around 3 times higher. That's a 300%! And companies usually give you a 4 to 5% of salary raise every year. So in a period of 10 years your salary has gone up in around 54% -if you are really lucky and your company really like you- while prices went up 300%. In another hand we have a huge real estate crisis. In the last 5 years house prices went up in more than 200% in some states thanks to very low interest rates offered by banks as a way to try to balance the economy and end the depression. Now the interest is not that low, the prices are going down because there is not a high demand for houses and the foreclosure level in the whole USA is going up and up.   States like Florida are suffering from another crisis: The Home Insurance price. The two years ago Hurricane season is now hitting us again hard in our pockets. We are paying at this moment almost the same amount of money in insurance that what we pay banks for our loans. In just one year my home payment went up in around 400 dollars to give you an idea.

And you may think, why Ctitanic is telling us all this? Well because today I read a sad news about Daniel also known to all of us by the nick name of Thoughtfix. His company felt victim of this crisis that I just described and the only solution that they found did not look to good for our friend. So, Daniel is looking for a job.

It's time for me to expand my horizons. If you are looking for someone with advanced systems administration skill, technical writing skill, blogging history, and high level knowledge of Internet operation and culture, send me a ring. I am up for travel or relocation - even internationally. Take a look at an older resume of mine and learn what ThoughtFix can do for YOUR company.

To me is always sad when I see somebody with such talent in this situation and I which him all the luck possible because he really need it. Good luck Daniel. This is all I can do for you at this moment my friend.
