Buy a Hyundai and get a free iPad
Hyundai is releasing the Equus this summer. Business as usual. What is different in this case is that the user manual of this car comes in an iPad! Yes, a free iPad. No comments.
Toshiba Folio 100
If are one of those waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Tab thinking that you are getting an iPad killer think again. Wait until September and get a Toshiba Folio 100, a machine that according to Toshiba will give you up to 7 hours of battery live in a 10 inches display with more side and resolution than what we see in the Galaxy Tab. The machine will come with the trio WiFi-BT-3G and a video chip nVidia. Android Froyo with Flash support and multitasking, web cam, sd reader, and both mini and full size USB ports all these are enough to make the iPad seems like a toy.

Samsung Galaxy Tab
The Samsung Galaxy Tab, everybody is waiting for this machine with huge expectations. Why? Well, technically this machine brings some features that the iPad does not have. That with Android 2.2 supporting Flash and the fact that this device is coming from Samsung gives this machine the potential to become the first real competitor that Apple will face this year.

Toshiba Smartpad pictures
Few pictures of a new device to be released by Toshiba has been posted by Notebook Italia. There is not too much known about this device. The rumor is that will use Android and a Nvidia Tegra to power a 10 inches display. The exterior design of this device is close to the one seen in the Tega v2 that will be released by Tegatech in September.

Tega v2 coming soon
Our friend Hugo Ortega is preparing the conditions for the release in September of the Tega v2, a very sexy Tablet PC that according to Hugo is ready to compete against the iPad. Well, I do not know if it's ready or not, at least is loaded with a capacitive display and a lot of other features unavailable in the iPad. Still know the price and I could not find any indication of what's going to be the battery life of this machine. A very important point this one for the competition against Apple's machine. I hope that if Hugo reads this post he answers us this question.

My time at mobilitysite ended
More than 3 years ago I was invited to write for Mobilitysite by Chris Leckness, the previous owner of the site. There were agreements between him and me that after his departure from the site the new administration is not willing to honor, specifically, they are trying to impose an exclusivity agreement something that I never had before that I feel is unfair taking in consideration that All my work at mobilitysite was voluntary and I never was paid by that site in anyway (including goods to be reviewed).
It was an honor to work with Chris and the old news team but I'm glad that I'm leaving the site.
One door closes and another opens. You can keep following my posts here or at Gadgetix, a new site about all kind of Gadgets with a very young and enthusiastic news editor team.

How to buy a clone from China
Buying a Chinese clone is a risky business and not exactly the Tom's Cruise movie where everybody speaks in English. But... The quality of Chinese electronics is raising while the price still unmatchable and that makes very hard to resist the desire to buy them. That's why before you jump into this adventure I would highly recommend to read this article written by people living in China form more than 13 years.
"First off, buying a shanzhai tablet can be tricky business. You’re essentially taking a leap of faith in buying something, typically over the internet, from an unknown company or brand that is in a far off country, that it would be difficult for you to contact or get a hold of should something go wrong with your purchase.
That being said… a big part of the reason we as “Westerners” started this website in the first place, after living in Asia for the last 13 plus years (yeah some of our team has been here even longer!) is because we were able to notice how improved and good some of the shanzhai products were becoming and are. "

A Tablet for 50 dollars
A few weeks ago we all were surprised to read the news coming from India about a tablet which price was less than 40 dollars. Well, it seems to me that they have found the secret of how to made cheap tablets because here you can find a video demoing a prototype that will cost to manufacture just 50 dollars. The prototype is using an ARM processor the same one that we were using in our PocketPCs a while back. And this make me think, how much really cost to build a PocketPc like my old Axim x51?

Velocity Micro Cruz Tablet
If we can believe in what the OEM is saying, the Velocity Micro Cruz Tablet is going to be the first Tablet running Android to reach the 10 hours of battery live. Battery live is very important and I would say that is one of the reasons why the iPad has been so successful.

Toshiba W100
The most innovative device of this year has been released to the market for just $1100: The Toshiba Libretto W100. The W100 is using Windows 7, to me the only OS capable of using efficiently the dual touch screen installed in this Netbook.

SliteMyTiles for Android
SliteMyTiles is a new game for Android just released to the Market place. The game is currently a freeware on it's way to become a commercial game and a best seller I would add.
I got a pre release copy from the author a few days ago and I have to confess that once I started play I could not stop. It's simple but very addictive puzzle game.

W7 against iPad
I have been using the iPad for a few days already and while in some tasks it is perfect in other tasks is not. In another hand I have found that in some daily tasks where according to some owners Apple made it really easy it's just as easy or worse than when you use a tablet pc loaded with Windows 7. This video shows what I'm saying.

The future of tablets
Glen Burchers from Freescales has a very clear picture of how Tablets of the future should look and how they should be used. This video shows clearly an example of his vision.
