Of course I'm not talking about those guys from the movies! I'm talking about the Asus Eee Pad Transformer. It seems that we are closer than ever to the release date of this device. Best Buy will sell the 16 Gb version for $400 and $500 for the 32 Gb. These prices and the fact that Asus was the company that took the world by surprise conquering the netbook market make me believe that finally we will see a real competition in this category of mobile devices.

Toshiba Android Tablet At Amazon
It seems that Toshiba is preparing conditions to start selling the still unnamed Toshiba Android Tablet at Amazon. If the name still unknown the price still a huge question mark. And I said huge because we are used to see huge price tags from Toshiba and I do not expect to see a miracle in this case. The specs in this case are again a lot better than what we see in those Tablets made by Apple.
But I have one question to Toshiba: battery life? Yes, I know that we are talking about a replaceable battery but still, I'll appreciate if you dedicate at least two words in your huge product description at Amazon to tell me what is the battery life. Thanks.

WiFi Motorola Xoom confirmed

Motorola confirmed that the price for the Xoom with WiFi only and 32 Gb of storage will be $599! the same price than the iPad 2 with similar technical specifications. I said similar because the Xoom technically is better loaded. Like I have been saying if Honeycomb would have been a more mature OS, the fight against the iPad 2 could have end in a different way.

iPad 2 manufacturing cost
Today iPad Jailbreak posted the manufacturing cost of all version of the iPad 2. If this study is realistic then Jobs was bluffing when he was saying that the competency new how hard was to maintain the low price of the iPads. Well, for a company that is used to have profits of up to 200% to see a profit of 40% is hard. But 40% is profit and is not low.

Applications iPad 2
The iPad 2 has been in the market for virtually few hours and Apple is already rubbing under your nose adds for applications that will only work in the iPad 2 thanks to the dual core processor and a little bit better graphic chip on it.

So there is the need already to spend at least $500 t get the new iPad. Very Apple Style.

Walgreens is selling a Tablet
Surprised? Ok, here is the link, check it. The Maylong M150 is an entry level Android (1.6) Tablet, if we can call in this way this 400MHz processor device. Now, if you are one of those that do not understand the popularity of the iPad, I invite you to read the reviews in that product page. People love the simplicity in any device. And even Android 1.6 is able to please most of the users out there. It's like a video that I found the other day about a 90 years old man that got an iPad from his daughter. The old man was still using an old PC with MSDOS and WordPerfect. The iPad was his first contact with Google and Internet. The rest you can imagine it. He was super happy because the iPad was a very friendly and easy to use machine. Easier than MSDOS where he needed a bunch of stickers with notes reminding him how to do stuff and the hot keys of the few programs he was using. After that, to comprehend the reason of those reviews in a machine which battery only last 2 hours and that apparently is not too good playing videos is not that difficult. People sometimes do not need sophisticated devices to accomplish they few things they do and need in Internet.

Toshiba Folio 100
If are one of those waiting for the Samsung Galaxy Tab thinking that you are getting an iPad killer think again. Wait until September and get a Toshiba Folio 100, a machine that according to Toshiba will give you up to 7 hours of battery live in a 10 inches display with more side and resolution than what we see in the Galaxy Tab. The machine will come with the trio WiFi-BT-3G and a video chip nVidia. Android Froyo with Flash support and multitasking, web cam, sd reader, and both mini and full size USB ports all these are enough to make the iPad seems like a toy.

Samsung Galaxy Tab
The Samsung Galaxy Tab, everybody is waiting for this machine with huge expectations. Why? Well, technically this machine brings some features that the iPad does not have. That with Android 2.2 supporting Flash and the fact that this device is coming from Samsung gives this machine the potential to become the first real competitor that Apple will face this year.

Toshiba Smartpad pictures
Few pictures of a new device to be released by Toshiba has been posted by Notebook Italia. There is not too much known about this device. The rumor is that will use Android and a Nvidia Tegra to power a 10 inches display. The exterior design of this device is close to the one seen in the Tega v2 that will be released by Tegatech in September.
