Steve checks the Slingplayer in an Everun

Steve, in German, is testing SlingPlayer running in an Everun streaming video from a slingbox box in New York. Optimizing means that the SlingPlayer is changing the video parameters to get the best picture possible from your network conditions.

I have a Slingbox since about a year ago and I love it. Right now I'm at work in my break, writing this note and I have the SlingPlayer watching one of the Shark Week programs of Discovery Channel.

Slingbox for 119 dollars

I paid 180 dollars for mine! I can't believe that Amazon is selling it now for just $119.

This is the old model but it works very well. I use it daily and it proved to be a very useful gadget the last World Football Cub in Germany. I did not miss a game while I was away from home.

And it works perfectly in my Samsung Q1.

Recording from SlingPlayer

SlingMedia encrypted the video streamed by SlingBox a while back. So it was not longer possible to record in your UMPC anything being played in your SlingPlayer. But today... I accidentally tested Fraps. I was looking for a Video Screen Capture and I tested this program while I had my Slingplayer working and what a surprise. This program just recorded what I had in my SlingPlayer playing!
