Sorry Joe Weisenthal but I do not see anything stupid in what Jesse Jackson Jr. said in his speech to the congress. Probably the weakest part of the speech is when he blames the iPad for the bad judgement of the editorial houses and libraries failing to see that paper is a dying method of preserving and distributing information and they need to assimilate the new methods. I'm sure that there is a lot of work behind digitizing all the existent published materials without losing any quality. But the point that Jesse Jackson Jr. is making is that Apple on top of making an existent issue more critical is not contributing in the creation of jobs in America, they use the cheaper labor of slaves in the Communist China. Yes, I used also the word Communist and no because I still living in the cold war era but because we are talking about the same China that many times has taking positions against USA defending the impossible. I did not hear Jesse Jackson proposing anything but if his intention was to propose the highest taxes possible to companies like Apple that are taking our jobs out the American soil, then He has my full support.
I know that getting back all those jobs could bring other problems including highest prices but having those jobs will make our economy stronger and we will have money to invest in our own land. So yes again, I vote for having the highest taxes and fines for those companies.
I never thought I would agree with Jesse Jackson. But he's right, and you're right. Communist China does not play fair with us. We need to stand up for ourselves and our jobs.
