This is a news that I was expecting to read at any moment since the release of the Kindle application for PC. The good news is that Amazon already released a patch that took care of this attack. Now, my question is, does it worth the effort? DRMs are just a lost cause. They failed in the music industry and they will fail with book too.
An Israeli hacker going by the handle "Labba" claims he has found a method which breaks the copyright protection on the Kindle, allowing the user to transfer eBooks purchased on the device as a PDF to another device. Kindles use a proprietary format ".azw" which prevents transfer to another device.
