But when I turn off the sound using VLC options, the video plays ok. I do know exactly at this point what is causing the problem. Probably 6 mpbs is too much.ctitanichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01780087839694527674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23949348.post-74453302455896882182007-06-20T15:06:00.000-04:002007-06-20T15:06:00.000-04:00I've had problems playing 720p WMVHD at around 6Mb...I've had problems playing 720p WMVHD at around 6Mbps.
I'm running Vista now though.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23949348.post-31967935268160538192007-06-20T10:12:00.000-04:002007-06-20T10:12:00.000-04:00In the video I'm specifying that it's a divx file....In the video I'm specifying that it's a divx file. You can download it here

I also tried some of the WMV from this site but I'm having problem with the audio. If I disable the audio the video plays fine without skipping any frames.ctitanichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01780087839694527674noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23949348.post-55920000150469025042007-06-20T09:34:00.000-04:002007-06-20T09:34:00.000-04:00I was going to ask a similar question!Whats the fo...I was going to ask a similar question!
Whats the format/bitrate of the movie you're playing. Thats more important than the original format in this case. Do you have a link to the original?

I like to talk in terms of mbps when referrring to the video processing power of the UMPCs. For example I know that the Celeron/Pentium UMPCs should be able to handle 6mbps of WMV which is more than enough quality for probably 99% of users.

Good video tho. Thanks Frank.

Steve.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09324321541433839766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-23949348.post-15511003963831533812007-06-20T09:14:00.000-04:002007-06-20T09:14:00.000-04:00Good video Frank. One thing people need to realize is that while a very compressed 720p video may play on these devices, you're not seeing them in actual High Definition. For this video you would need a screen res with 720 horizontal lines and likely 1,280 vertical.Kevin C. Tofelhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08703990805716640021noreply@blogger.com
